C’mon and smell the glove! Our interactive cinematic celebration of the world’s greatest rockumentary is back!
Even if it wasn’t technically the first one, THIS IS SPINAL TAP is still pretty much the granddaddy of all mockumentaries. This legendary satire focusing on the latest American comeback tour of the legendary but now aging rock group (dubbed “one of England’s loudest bands”) still manages to be hilarious and feel fresh decade after decade.
Stars and co-writers Harry Shearer, Michael McKean, and Christopher Guest are amazing together (although Guest steals the show with his delivery in almost every scene). The tone is perfect. The gags are great and still on-point to this day (mini Stonehenge! Dying drummers!). But it’s the unexpected heart that sets the film apart – you laugh at these knuckleheads, but you also care about them, which is a rare feat in a comedy.
Your ticket comes with the following props:
Inflatable guitars – “Don’t touch it. Don’t point at it. It can’t be played.”
Stonehenge keychain – It almost looks like the real thing.
Guitar pick – This guitar pick goes up to 11.
Plus, we read your backstage rider and have got you covered with our exclusive menu, featuring These Go to 11 Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Saucy Jack Pizza, Lick My Love Pump Shake, and the Electric Banana cocktail or non-alcoholic Machtail. You’ll be more stuffed than Derek’s pants.
Justin Parlette is a comedic actor, writer, director, producer, and nap enthusiast.
You can see him performing around Chicago as a solo artist as well as with Birdlady, Doogin and Justin, Fleeced, and hosting movies for the Alamo Drafthouse.
He’s a little too excited about his sponsorship from Jeppson’s Malört.
