rf Strider Band was formed in 2018 by Strider Slocum (vocals and guitar) and Eric Parent (bass guitar), both formerly of the Wooden Bones. Joined by Chris Schelleng on guitar, the band quickly developed a unique sound blending genres like jam band, reggae, classic rock, country, blues, and punk. In late 2023, Raymond Kingston took over as drummer after Zeljko Mikulic departed.
In 2021, the band released Be Here Now and Sunset, followed by the 2022 album Surf Strider Band Live! At the Parrot. The 2024 singles Take Off and Hope Road further showcase their evolving style.
