Jacob Smigel: from songwriter to ER doctor— and back again!! Is proud to celebrate the release of his new album “We Laughed a lot, Didn’t We.” Smigel has teamed up a second time with Providence, RI’s own Deer Tick, who back him on this recording, and will appear as his live backing band as well. This collaboration has elevated his song-craft and resulted in many styles and many moods… From the progressive self-help of Self-Preservation, to the dad-rock of Being a Dad (a Loudon Wainwright cover), to a 90’s tribute called The Best Song on the Album. Nashville Scene says “He’s folded interests like medicine and entomology and a fascination with found sound into songs that seem to tumble out of his head fully formed.” Vowing to keep artistic expression at the forefront of his life, Smigel is coming to The Parlour (1119 N. Main St., Providence, RI) on Wednesday, September 17th, 2025. Doors at 7pm, music starts at 8pm. Show is 21+ with tickets being $20 in advance or at the door. The Quahogs are opening performing as a duo.
