What: Wreckless Eric @ Just Dropped In

When:

Wreckless Eric @ Just Dropped In Eric Goulden is known to many as Wreckless Eric though most are unaware of his prodigious recorded output since his beginnings on Stiff Records in the mid-seventies. For this show Eric will be alone with electric and acoustic guitars, and electronics of his own making. He tends to do what he wants to do rather than what might be expected. He’ll most likely play his big hit from the seventies, the enduring Whole Wide World. He may play other songs from various stages career, but the set will most likely focus on his new album, England Screaming, released on Tapete Records in November 2025. Expect songs, stories and soundscapes, but don’t expect a recreation of 1977 - the past forty-seven years have made him so much more than that.

Who: Wreckless Eric

Alternative
Wreckless Eric (born Eric Goulden on May 18, 1954 in East Sussex, England) was part of the pub-rock scene before he became one of the earliest artists to be signed to Stiff Records. Even as a singer-songwriter with a distinct singing voice, his records failed to chart but his live shows were his main successes, winning him a faithful audience to whom he continues to play to this day. Interest in Wreckless Eric’s music was renewed with the inclusion of the song “Whole Wide World” on the soundtrack to the movie “Stranger Than Fiction” (2006). The movie features a scene where the leading man (played by Will Ferrell) sings the song while he strums timidly on his guitar. The same song also appeared in “Me Without You” a few years earlier.
