“Brilliant” - Dean Jackson, BBC Introducing
Willow Bay are an Indie-Folk trio hailing from Nottingham & Derbyshire, UK. Whilst individually coming from Alternative and Rock rooted backgrounds, the group was formed with the common interest of wanting to explore more delicate and melodic aspects to songwriting. Taking their influence from the likes of Noah Kahan, Elle Coves and Bros Landreth, the band gelled whilst experimenting with different instrumentation including banjo and baritone guitar with a strong emphasis on melody and vocal harmonies. They love writing, self recording and releasing music and celebrate the fact they all bring different perspectives to the melting pot.
November 2024 brought the release of their debut single ‘She Loves The Rain’, closely followed by ‘Evangeline’ and ‘Call It a Day’ which were instantly picked up by BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson, who gave the band their first spin on the radio and then further airtime on BBC Radio’s Nottingham, Derby & Lincolnshire.
Despite only having a handful of singles released in early 2025 they were selected to perform at North Germany’s largest city wide festival Maiwoche, Osnabrück. The Indie-Folk trio will also be making their debut at Derbyshire’s Ynot Festival as well as a handful of support slots including fellow Nottingham based alt rockers George Gadd + The Aftermath.
The band are currently writing new material whilst working on their debut EP, details of which will be announced this summer.
