Who: Gone Savage
Hard Rock
GONE SAVAGE are a rock band originally out of Manchester UK, formed in 1990 by bassist Ian Salpekar (formerly of SWEET SIN), guitarist Andy J (formerly of SWEET SIN), vocalist Will Glover (formerly of SAM THUNDER) and drummer James Ross (formerly of Darren Whartonâs DARE)
The band recorded and released 3 demos in their brief 2-year spell and played to audiences all over the UK including the legendary Marquee Club in London. From 1992 until around 2014 Gone Savage took an extended hiatus due to family life and commitments.
In 2015, GONE SAVAGE, still eager to create more music, brought in a fledgling young gun by the name of James Marsh who took on both lead / rhythm guitar duties and lead vocals. A new 4-song EP was recorded and self-produced by the band titled âResurrectionâ. A self-funded CD would be released on their own 3@47inc Records in January of 2016.
In 2019, Salpekar started writing again with the original Gone Savage singer, Will Glover, for a new album provisionally titled #PastLife. Out of over 30 songs, the cut came down to 11.
Mallison returned as a guest and played guitar on five of the tracks on the new album together with another rising star Sam Millar (THE SASS BANDITS, BIGFOOT) who also played on five tracks. James Marsh guested on the re-recorded version of âLove Caught Me Outâ.
In 2019, GONE SAVAGE started to release a steady stream of singles. This marked the beginning of a new era for GONE SAVAGE with the release of a new track âBulletproofâ with accompanying lyric video. The follow up single, âLouder than the Sunâ was released on February 7th 2020 and as part of special re-release, âLove Caught Me Outâ was remixed and remastered with Glover back on lead vocals and dropped on the 25th of September 2020. The single âLife in Black and Whiteâ followed in April 2022 with an acclaimed animated video produced by Rock n Roll Babies. Another single, âIcon of Todayâ would be released in December 2022. These singles would be combined into a full-length album titled PastLife that would only be released digitally in May of 2022 to much acclaim from reviewers and media alike.
In the autumn of 2023, Heaven and Hell records in Pennsylvania picked the band up and re-imaged PastLife as a full 11 track CD re-titled âLife in Black and Whiteâ with colour booklet and full lyric inlay via worldwide distribution. The release was greeted with great enthusiasm within the rock community.
GONE SAVAGE released their eagerly anticipated follow up to âLife in Black and Whiteâ titled RETROGRADE in October 2024! An album of 10 tracks digitally worldwide, with the CD version due early 2025. Art Direction, Illustrations and Design have been done by the legendary artist, Hugh Syme, synonymous with legendary artists such as Rush, Aerosmith and Bon Jovi as well as a âwhoâs whoâ in rock!
Currently the band line up is Ian Salpekar (Bass), Will Glover (Vocals), Dex Tyler (Drums) and Jon Sudbury (Guitars) with additional vocals by session man Don Genovese. All writing is done in house by Will and Ian, with production and mastering duties by our long-time friends of the band, Brad Rolling and Pete Maher respectively.
