VV — Toronto based SHALLOW WAVES is a post-punk/ industrial/ noise group with heavy techno influences. Their most recent effort displays a marked diversion from their original iteration as solely a post punk act, as Shallow Waves have taken a cue from contemporary bands like The Soft moon, Model / Actriz as well as bands of yesteryear such as Killing Joke and Ministry. Shallow Waves latest singles mark this evolution. FFO: Model/Actriz, The Soft Moon, Ministry — William Bleak is a Post Punk/Cold Wave Band from Berlin, Germany, combining pumping electronic rhythms with manic guitars and guttural baselines into a grotesque yet celebratory sound. In 2024 alone the band released six well-received singles, four accompanying music videos, embarked on a successful DIY US tour and opened for bands like Traitrs and Clan of Xymox. Their new sound serves as the perfect fusion of Dance Punk Sensibilities and Cold Wave Despair, a jarring synthesis lethal to the senses.
