Jay Ottaway pflegt eine sehr enge Beziehung zu Europa und Berlin. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren gibt der amerikanische Singer-Songwriter und Gitarrist aus Boston (USA) hier Konzerte und war öfter bei Speiches R&B Stage zu Gast. Seine Musik und seine Songs stehen in der Tradition großer amerikanischer Songwriter und Bands wie Dylan & The Band, Neil Young und Tom Petty, haben aber einen eigenen, unverwechselbaren Sound. Kurz: Wer auf Westcoast Blues & Rock’n’Roll, viele Gitarren und mehrstimmige Gesänge steht, ist hier an der richtigen Adresse.

Diesmal ist Jay mit Sänger und Pianist Chris “Earl“ Town (Flensburg) unterwegs und wird von zwei großartig Berliner Musikern unterstützt: dem Gitarristen Henrik Dohrn und dem Mundharmonikaspieler Matthias Stolpe. Die Rhythmusgruppe besteht aus Wolfgang Stölzle an den Drums und Henrik Herzmann am Bass. Ein erfahrenes Team, das unter anderem auch schon bei “Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys” zusammengespielt hat.”

Jay Ottaway, singer-songwriter from Boston (USA), is back on tour in Europe in 2025 with the band Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys. They play blues-infused original rock compositions, deeply rooted in traditional American songwriting. Just like many of his past critically acclaimed songs, Jay’s admiration for artists like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Tom Petty or the Grateful Dead comes through loud and clear.

Jay Ottaway has toured in Europe for over two decades and Jay Ottaway and The Lost Boys have toured together since 2019. They have played festivals like Woodstock Forever, Street Life (Leverkusen) and Grammo-Musik-Festival (Leichlingen), as well as played in many prestigious clubs like the Bielefelder Jazz Club, Speiches Rock- & Blueskneipe (Berlin) and Music Star (Norderstedt). Joining Jay is Guido Lehmann, an excellent country-rock guitarist and lap steel player who has played in many well-known formations, including “Hillbilly Deluxe” and “The Swamptones.” The rhythm section is handled by drummer Klaus Marner and bassist Henrik Herzmann, both well-travelled masters of the European music scene.
