Just like aging and skipping school, the best things in life are free. Or that comforting feeling of rediscovering a juvenile passion. Hannover, Germany, January 2022: Five buddies, three chords, one dodgy basement. You get the idea. Some call it coincidence, some call it fate. We call it naivety. After all, no one ever said we’d outgrow our Face To Face shirts. A couple more chords and a handful of air miles later, Friends With Boats is back with their live debut. One week of high fives and late night giggles alongside like-minded folks such as The Jukebox Romantics (US), Ueberyou (CH) or Tired Radio (US) plus a slot at Hamburg’s very own “Booze Cruise” festival - the summer of 2022 feels just like 1998. Is there anybody out there? Anybody but that comforting feeling? Well, the release of Friends With Boats’ debut record “Bumper Sticker Poetry” is just around the corner. And apparently so is the summer of 1999. Let’s get it.
