Benthos are an experimental progressive metal band from Milan, Italy. Blending elements of prog, mathcore, post-hardcore, jazz fusion, and psychedelia, they craft a sound where precision meets unpredictability and melody crashes into madness.

For those who crave music that’s unapologetically heavy and unhinged—yet also dreamlike, melodic, and jazz-infused—Benthos deliver a relentless sonic experience. Their music shifts effortlessly between chaotic passages and stunningly ethereal interludes, always pushing into uncharted territory.

Their 2021 debut II introduced their adventurous and alluring blend of chaotic catharsis. In 2024, Benthos signed to InsideOutMusic and released their sophomore album From Nothing in April 2025—a bold, genre-defying statement praised by press worldwide that builds upon its predecessor and cements the band as a leading force in modern progressive music.

Following their 2022 Essence Tour, the band took the main stage at Dissonance Festival 2023 alongside Meshuggah, Soen, Destrage. They previously opened for The Contortionist in Milan in 2019, and this summer, they’ll support Between The Buried And Me on their “Colors” tour. Benthos are also set to appear at Euroblast Festival 2025.
