Who: Lucia Fumero
After her debut album Universo normal (Seed Music, 2021), a record dominated by original jazz with certain Latin American influences, followed by two albums that act as satellites of her own project (Los Fumeros -Seed Music, 2022- recorded with her father, bassist Horacio Fumero; and La Naissance De La Mer -Modern Obscure Music, 2023), Lucia Fumero takes a leap forward, free from corsets and labels and with creative freedom as a premise to arrive at Folklore (Seed Music, 2024) and make explicit Fumero’s link with her Argentine and Swiss roots: “For me, creativity only appears from the non-limit. If you start to delimit a terrain, a style, a form, I don’t like the result anymore.”
Formed between Barcelona and Rotterdam, Lucia Fumero won the 1st Prize for Musical Youth in Spain (2021) and the Best Emerging Band Award from the Jazz España Platform (2022). Fumero regularly plays at the most representative jazz venues in Spain and has been invited to festivals such as the Barcelona Jazz Festival, Terrassa Jazz Festival, Getxo Jazz Festival, San Sebastián Jazz Festival - Jazzaldia, Cádiz Jazz Festival, Madrid Jazz Festival, the Grec Festival in Barcelona and La Mercè, in addition to debuting in Greece (Athens Jazz Festival), Budapest, Germany, Hungary, Sweden and Portugal and the USA.
She has collaborated with artist and musician friends such as Rita Payés, Salvador Sobral, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Fuensanta, Nico Roig, Xavi Torres, Horacio Fumero and Magalí Datzira, among others.
