Alternative
Reb Fountain is a premium New Zealand award-winning artist. Her Flying Nun debut Reb Fountain and sophomore IRIS were both released to critical acclaim with MOJO’s Martin Aston calling Reb, “New Zealand’s next alt-folk sensation” and Rolling Stone heralding, “it’s impossible not to be moved on this journey.” Invoking a blend of folk, art-pop and rock unrivaled in Aotearoa, “her sound is genre defying, the set seamlessly transitions from songs that wouldn’t go amiss on a Bond soundtrack, to electro pop, to rock and folk but it flows in to one unmistakable sound.” (Subba-Cultcha) Reb is renowned for her spell-binding live performances, unparalleled voice & magnetic on-stage presence. “Shaman-like, Fountain moves across the stage and through the various stages of herself to deliver these songs, devotionals. She and the band are not just world class performers, they might in fact be world-beaters.” (Off The Tracks) After standout debut performances at Womadelaide and extensively touring in Europe with Marlon Williams, Fountain’s reputation for an exceptional live show has gone global. “Slinking around the stage like a cat, Reb is what would happen if Stevie Nick’s and Kate Bush were to collide, her folky punk sound and stage presence has the audience captivated.” (Music Crowns). “Reb is a revelation. I could have watched her show on any stage in the world and she would have deserved to be there. " (STUFF) Look out for new music and performances from Reb in 2024/25.
