When:

Raiza Biza @ Western Springs Stadium and Park

This October 11th, Auckland is turning up the heat with Afrosoul, Aotearoa’s ultimate celebration of rhythm, flavour and creativity. Set against the vibrant backdrop of a lake in Tāmaki Makaurau, Afrosoul brings together the electrifying pulse of live Afrobeat music, a kaleidoscope of African art, authentic cuisine, dance battles, and soul-stirring community vibes.

And for the first time ever in New Zealand, the global giant of Afro-fusion himself - Burna Boy - will take the stage with a performance that promises to shake the city.

A festival. A moment. A meeting of hearts across continents.

It’s the soul of Africa, alive in Auckland.

Who: Raiza Biza

Afro Beats

Raiza Biza writes with a unifying voice, honed over a lifetime spent crossing borders and connecting with communities across South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe and his home country, Rwanda A veteran hip-hop artist and musician, he spent the 2010s touring the world, recording six solo projects, and sharing stages and studio sessions with Oddisee, Black Milk, Sampa The Great, Jess B, Melodownz, Teeks, and REMI.

Since the dawn of the 2020s, Raiza Biza has been quietly reacclimating himself with the rich musical traditions of the African continent. Recently, he has been deepening this connection in the hills of Rwanda, where he has been slowly blending his formalist hip-hop and soul sensibilities with the rhythms and melodies of afrobeats. With a new album on the horizon, he’s ready to serve up a slow-cooked stew of sounds, stories and perspectives that could only come from his brilliant mind.
