Emerson is a rising force in Aotearoa’s alt-pop scene, blending unfiltered emotion with powerhouse live energy. After winning the 2024 Smokefree Rockquest Solo-Duo category, she has rapidly built a name for herself with support slots for Will Swinton, Borderline, and a North Island tour with Frankie Venter. She has landed four singles on the Official NZ Music Charts since her debut last year. Most recently, “Show U Off” peaked at #13 on the Hot 20 Singles Chart, following in the footsteps of “Tip of My Tongue” (#6), “You Really Must Hate Me!” (#10), and “Bored” (#16). The consistent charting underscores her growing momentum and resonance with listeners across Aotearoa. Raised onstage as a musical theatre kid and competitive dancer, Emerson commands every performance with seasoned charisma. Since 2022, she’s sharpened her artistry across a range of indie bands — stepping into roles as bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and lead songwriter. Beyond her solo work, Emerson is becoming a go-to collaborator in the local scene, with recent co-writes and features alongside Frankie Venter (“Like It Like That”), Teo Glacier, Keenan Te, Macey, Rosetta (Make You Mine and Girls Gone Wild), and Lucy Gray. After showcasing at this year’s Going Global, Emerson is soon hitting the road nationally on the Suckerpunch Tour with Dani Josie, playing across Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland in Sep/Oct.
