Adult Friends roll into Tāmaki as part of their North Island run celebrating their forthcoming single S Is For Stress. The tour marks the band’s first outing with their new line‑up, with Charmort joining them on stage and pushing their sound into bold new territory.
They’re joined on the road by Wellington electronic producer Charmort and post‑rock outfit Spiral, with a different local act in each city. For the Auckland stop, Lacquered Black step in as special guests.
The tour spans Pōneke, Taupō, and Tāmaki, bringing a mix of new material, reworked favourites, and the energy of a band entering a fresh chapter.
Adult Friends are a Wellington, New Zealand–based alternative band with gothic and melancholic leanings. Drawing influence from At the Drive-In, Failure and The Cure, the band crafts songs that balance tension and atmosphere, inviting listeners to interpret and inhabit the music in their own way.
The name Adult Friends is inspired by long-time influence Xiu Xiu.
