Atlanta-based band GRUDGESTEP can best be described as “Outlaw Grungecore.” Their sound is notable for a plethora of heavy guitar riffs weaving through rhythms with driving drums and intricate bass lines, all topped by powerhouse vocals and melancholy storytelling.
“There’s a lot going on in our sound, but we keep the essence of the project cohesive,” explains Kellie (vocalist/guitarist). “We have broad influences between the three of us, and you can definitely tell that there’s an old school feel to what we’re writing, but by combining all of these styles and adding in that vulnerable aggression provided by the lyrics, we’re looking to create something a little different for modern ears.”
At the end of the day, the message is clear: Be real in your life. Be raw with your story. Fuck shit up and make it count.
