Named after the rehearsal space where their sound first took shape, five-piece rock band Unit 17 draws influence from the attitude of Britpop and the raw edge of modern indie.
About “Bitter”:
We believe our new song “bitter” is our shift from the indie jangle in our past songs to a modern Britpop sound, added to by raw vocals and tight production giving it a sharp edge that most modern indie has lost. It’s gritty, direct, in your face, and heavily built on attitude and feelings. For this song, our inspiration came from Ocean Colour Scene and Oasis. The song captures, and tackles, emotions such as frustration and defiance. We’re pushing heavily to cement this new sound and get it playing through as many ears as possible.
