Alternative Indie Rock

Rising teenage indie rock sensations The Radio Addicts are back with their electrifying new single, “Before My Eyes.” This follows the success of their debut single, Scroll My Life Away, and the complete sell out of their debut Vinyl EP “MMXXV”. The song is a rock and roll arms aloft indie anthem, with a blend of anthemic guitars, soaring vocals, and raw emotional energy that cements their place as one of the most exciting new young bands on the UK indie scene. Before My Eyes is about how quickly life passes us by, “one day you’re born now the next day you’re 41,” is taken from the lyrics. Frontman and songwriter, Luke Cardwell explains;

“It’s nostalgic, a little bit cathartic but primarily it’s a reflection on passing time, love, and the way life moves so fast, and we are at risk of missing the important things in life. It touches upon growing up, responsibilities, apprehensions, parental divorce, others having a better time than us, and most of all, the raw excitement of being young and chasing your dreams. Which is exactly what we are doing in The Radio Addicts! This band is all that matters to us, and we are chasing our dreams! If you have seen us live over the last 12 months or so, this song is usually the opener and sets the barometer for things to come. Its long been a song that our audiences sing a long too, and this is one that they have been asking us to release.”

Produced by Andy Dawson at DOA Studios, the single captures The Radio Addicts’ signature balance of big sing along choruses, rock and roll grit and melody. DJs and promoters who have heard the song in advance suggested there are echoes of bands like; The Killers, Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Libertines and fellow Boltonians The Buzzcocks, while The Radio Addicts continue to carve out a sound that’s becoming distinctly their own.

With every show they pick up more supporters and friends, and their galvanising live show has people coming back to watch time and time again. Luke’s performance and showmanship on stage has been compared to Robbie Williams and his hero Thom Rhylance from The Lottery Winners.

Since forming in 2024, The Radio Addicts have been have had a full on 12 months, playing headline shows, selling out a tour to tie in with the promotion of their debut single “Scroll My Life Away” and playing on many, many festival stages in 2025. The band are no strangers to celebrities either; earlier in 2025 Luke played on stage with 2 x No 1 Album indie heroes The Lottery Winners at their hometown show in Leigh, then in a next level moment of surrealism; he was invited to meet the legend Bruce Springsteen backstage at the Co-Op Arena in Manchester, before The Boss took to the stage! What an honour, and a real dream come true moment.

Before My Eyes is taken from The Radio Addicts debut vinyl EP “MMXXV” which in many ways achieved the impossible, as every single vinyl copy sold out four months before it was due to hit the shelves, as the demand was so high all copies were purchased during the presale flurry! Luke says:

“We have been absolutely blown away by the support. We never imagined this kind of response so early on in our careers. Honestly it’s unbelievable. Thank you everyone. We really appreciate all your support and don’t take it for granted. We won’t let you down.”

The MMXXV EP Launch Party at is at Wax and Beans in Bury on 30th November with support from Jonny Blade, Jacob Reddy and Lydia Reddy. The event sold out four months in advance! Looking ahead to 2026 The Radio Addicts momentum shows no signs of slowing down, as they have already been booked for big festival stages in 2026, in January 2026 they play alongside indie titans: Spangled, Alright, Stanley’s and Crystal Tides and they have a headline show in Manchester at The Eagle Inn on 22nd March 2026 to look forward to. The headline show sold out in seven day, five months before the gig!!
