TENSION CONTROL - the 2016 in Germany founded project captivates with powerful
analogue synthesizers. The starting point of the musical development is old-school
electronic body music, DAF, Die Krupps and Nitzer Ebb send their regards! But it is clear to
hear that the wheel of time keeps turning and even old school EBM continues to evolve.
Balancing nostalgia and innovation, combining the raw energy of the old school with the
modern development of the genre and intelligent lyrics. Uncomfortable socially critical
topics packaged in entertaining and clever stories are at the forefront, while artistic and
scene-typical content remains important.
All composings, sounds and lyrics were made by Michael Schrader, who’s based in
Hamburg since 2018, is also the singer of TENSION CONTROL. He even does the
production and artwork himself.
2018 and 2022 the band was touring with Front Line Assembly and Die Krupps across
Europe, in 2025 across United Kingdom with Dead Lights and Front Line Assembly.
Now, at the end of 2025, the fifth studio album, ‘Freiheit’ (Freedom), is being released and
will lead Electronic Body Music into the future with old school sound produced with
modern synthesizers and finely crafted content.
The raw and pure mixture of different currents of traditional electronic music and fresh
elements leads to the highest mood for EBM lovers.
