The four members of this world-renowned dance performance group, consisting of Shoji, Kazuki, NOPPO, and Oguri, won the largest dance contest in the U.S., “BODY ROCK,” in 2010 and 2011 in a row. They have been inundated with offers from all over the world and have visited more than 25 countries so far. Their success has led to their being featured on NHK’s “Asa Ichi”, NTV’s “Sukkiri”, and Fuji Television’s “Mezamashi TV”. TBS “Music Day”, TV Asahi’s “Music Station” and “Sekijam”, and Fuji Television’s “MUSIC FAIR” as an artist rather than a backup dancer. Each of their original stage performances has been very well received, and their fourth production, “The Library,” in the fall of 2018, had a total of 30 performances in 7 cities across Japan. Furthermore, on June 13, 2020, the first online live performance was successfully held and became the talk of the town with viewers from 12 countries and regions around the world. In January 2021, they released “FLYING FIRST PENGUIN” (Blu-ray), a dance video album featuring all original songs, an unprecedented feat for a dancer, and appeared on TV Asahi’s “MUSIC STATION” as a dance artist who does not sing. I thought, “How can I preserve the dance expression that I put my heart and soul into and have it be seen by many people? I thought, “In order to preserve my soulful dance expression and have it seen by many people, I decided to create a work in which the dancer as an expressive person took the lead. Through this challenge, I want to make dance play a more leading role. For the members, this will be a major attempt to challenge further possibilities as dancers by creating music for dance from scratch without using existing songs, commercializing the music on Blu-ray, and freely using sound sources.
