Who: Ryoji Yamaguchi

Ryoji Yamaguchi Guitarist and composer. Born in Israel, Ryoji has lived in Greece, Mexico, El Salvador, and the United States, from an early age. He is recognized for his deep and evocative performances, incorporating music from around the world, ancient Greek music, and contemporary music. He studied classical guitar at the University of Miami. Active as a versatile performer, composer, and improviser, he has performed in the United States, Jamaica, Greece, Portugal, Cape Verde, and Japan. He has appeared at Festival Lent (Slovenia), and Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival. He has performed with Earl “Chinna” Smith (Bob Marley & the Wailers), Noh actor Reijiro Tsumura, and many other artists. The album “oracle” features ancient Greek music, “SEMIMARU” features esoteric Japanese lute pieces from Heian period, and “WOLVES” features improvisations with Leo Sai and Keisuke Ohta. “Symbiotic Diaries 1,” an art book with artist Ryoko Uchida, features a combination of paintings and musical scores, with over 12 hours of improvised music. Ryoji founded the music label OURANIA ARMONIIA in 2018.
