BIOGRAPHY
Rudi Biber, born in Vienna, Austria, is a guitarist,
producer, and studio pioneer whose musical journey
spans over six decades. Though originally trained as a
plumber, Biber picked up the guitar early and never
looked back. At age 11, he founded his first band The
Teenbeats and later played alongside Austrian jazz-
fusion legend Karl Ratzer.
In the 1980s, he launched Black Lagoon Studios in
Vienna, which quickly became a cornerstone of the
Austrian and international music scenes. As a
producer, arranger, and engineer, Biber collaborated
with an array of iconic artists, including:
Black Lagoon Studios also served as a
creative hub for Austria’s biggest stars:
Rainhard Fendrich, Wolfgang Ambros,
Georg Danzer, STS, EAV, Andy Baum,
Ludwig Hirsch, Bilgeri, Ostbahn Kurti,
Drahdiwaberl, Erika Pluhar, and
countless others.
In 1992 and 1993, Biber co-produced
the Supermax albums “The Max is
Going to Kick You” and “One and All”,
contributing as both arranger and
guitarist.
At the turn of the millennium, Rudi
relocated with his family to Florida,
USA, where he immersed himself in the
American blues tradition—while
continuing to write, record, and
perform.
