Overlord play a fresh, modern take on the dark, progressive rock/early metal bands of the 1970s, informed as much by modern thrash/groove metal as they are by traditional blues. Through these myriad influences, the band intends to create music that can be enjoyed and appreciated by any fan of heavy music. Formed in 2011 by bassist Josh Knight and vocalist/guitarist Tal Fineman alongside guitarist Rhys Williams and drummer Kyle Edwards, the band released their debut EP on 1st June 2012, and since have played with many other up and coming British bands including Revoker and Sacred Mother Tongue. Kyle’s departure in Summer 2013 led to the introduction of Jake Coles as the band’s new drummer, and releasing their second EP, ‘Authors’ on 12th December 2013, they are now booking gigs across the country.
