Olivia Lay is an emerging singer/songwriter known for her compelling guitar playing inspired by the likes of John Mayer, John Butler and Newton Faulkner.
At age 16 Olivia showcased her intricate guitar playing ability by learning the 11 minute masterpiece “Ocean” by John Butler; which she often covers at her gigs. She then went on writing her debut instrumental album “Soundscapes” (released 2022), taking listeners on a journey while drawing inspiration from stunning Gippsland landscapes. Later she honed her lyric writing, releasing “Searching” in 2023, “Crooked River Road” and “Wondering” in 2024, which feature on her latest EP “24”.
Olivia has already shared the stage with some impressive names, having supported artists such as Ruby Fields, Baker Boy, Nathan Cavaleri, Steph Strings, Daniel Champagne, and more. She has also played at well known events such as Queenscliff Music Festival, NYE on the Hill festival and won the Regional Battle of the Bands competition in 2019, kickstarting her musical career.
