Off-Knowneous (オフ・ノーニアス、Ofu Nōniasu, stylised as OFF-KNOWNEOUS), is an Asian American alternative rock band from Bergen County, New Jersey that specializes in rock music inspired by popular Japanese and anime soundtracks. The band writes and performs original music in Japanese and English. They are composed of Jooyoung Lee (vocals, rhythm), Michael Cozine (guitar), Jason Mallonga (bass), Roland Jeric Lintag (drums). Starting out as a one time gig, they began to take their activities more seriously after seeing the joy and reactions from crowds. Their musical repertoire and performance style draws from both a love of Japanese music as well as individual members’ histories in the underground rock music scenes. OFF-KNOWNEOUS now aims to staple the sound of Asian rock music onto the world.
Though the band has played several shows since forming in early 2021, the current lineup has been performing and writing original music together since Spring 2022. Since then, they have been playing their music in the Metro area DIY music space as well as conventions across the U.S and even organize their own annual J-rock concert titled “Yukibana Rock Festival”. This is a venue for them and other like-minded J-Rock inspired artists to play together to an audience that felt very passionately about asian pop culture. OFF-KNOWNEOUS has had the honor of performing at anime, video game, and music conventions such as Anime Boston, Anime Magic, AAAAH Weekend, and Kogaracon. The band just released their second single “Koibumi / Motorcycle” in early 2025.
