Melbourne-based artist Maxine Gillon has made a name for herself with her accomplished songwriting that showcases both her literate & abstract lyricism as well as her hypnotic & lush production arrangements. Across both vivacious pop songs and ethereal ballads, her inimitable sound draws from indie pop, shoegaze, western twang & power pop elements.
After releasing her breakout EP ‘Ultra Lounge’ in late 2022, she returned in 2024 with singles ‘Lipstick’ and ‘Venus of Brunswick East’. Her work has been met with plays and praise from Spotify, Music Victoria, FBI, 2Ser, RRR, PBS, 4ZZZ, NTS (UK), RUSSH Magazine, Music Feeds, Pilerats & Demure Magazine.
As an artist and musician she has supported Jen Cloher, Underground Lovers, Baxter Dury, Cash Savage and the Last Drinks, The Goon Sax, Girl and Girl and Kim Salmon to name a few. Her work has also featured guest appearances from alternative luminaries such as Jonnine Standish (HTRK) & Lindy Morrison (The Go-Betweens).
