So Where To Today?

Maisie B adores and craves connecting with others through the vulnerability of their music. An experienced performer and multi-instrumentalist, they seamlessly weave together their favourite elements of folk, jazz and alt pop to curate a sound that is texturally rich, emotionally charged and an intricate fusion of everything they love. Maisie’s first release “The Three Sugars EP“ allowed them to strive for and achieve several funding opportunities for further project creation. Their following singles “Cliché” and “Dreaming” received significant support from local radio station Three D, as well as interstate shows such as Syn Media (Sydney). Alongside this, Maisie studied the Bachelor of Jazz Performance (saxophone), where they met the members of their band. Maisie has been performing and recording with their band since 2021 but continues to also love performing as a soloist. In 2023 Maisie used funding received from the Helpmann Academy to record “The Nothing But The Sun EP”. They describe this new project as taking a darker, more complex tone than their previous releases, existing sonically in the world of First Aid Kit, Yebba and Fleetwood Mac, with a few sprinklings of Phoebe Bridgers and Lizzy McAlpine. They released the first two singles from the EP “Pull The Rug” and “The River” before the full release at the end of 2024. To Maisie, writing a song brings a story to life, and the act of performing that song turns it into a never-ending story. They strive to continue expanding their range of human connection, hoping to play folk festivals and shows around Australia.
