With main influences from Helmet, Slayer and Clutch crossover Hardrock / Metal / Punk combo LOK started out in the suburbs of Gothenburg; Sweden in 1995. What begun as a side project for members Johan and Martin quickly became their main focus. After recording their first 6-track EP in Studio Fredman and releasing it by themselves, they landed a record deal with one of the old gigants (SONET / Stockholm Records / Universal) and released their now cult classic debut ”Naken Blästrad och Skitsur” early -99.
Big tours, big success, grammy and gold record sales could not keep the band together. After three successful albums they suddenly fell apart in 2002 and the only life sign after that were the live album ”Blästrad Levande” that showcased their last gig, recorded on hometown ground Gothenburg, released 2003.
During their short life span LOK gained lot of interest from both young and teenager listeners. The band left a lot of people never being able to see them live. So, after 17 years in hiatus they suddenly reunited in 2019 to play at the big stages again, celebrating the music and with their debut album in focus. The band found themselves enjoying playing again and after the pandemic they have then been doing a small amount of concerts each year. Sweden Rock Festival 2019, Copenhell 2022, Gefle Metal Fest 2022 and a bunch of outsold venus and clubs around Sweden continued to build their rumor as a great live act with full throttle response with a songbook that stands the test of time.
LOK’s to date unique receipt of intense short songs combined with fuzz ripping guitars, heavy groove drums into some kind of hardcore blender, all sung in Swedish are a meaty live experience. The nowadays cult band from Sweden are still a combine harvester that will deliver mosh joy for all ages.
