Who: Liv Andersson
Folk Noir
Listening to Liv Andersson’s music is like getting lost in a conversation at night. The German-British artist creates landscapes of words and sounds with melancholic undertones. Organic and cinematic arrangements weave a black cloth under which haunting visions and dreams come to live. In 2023, Liv Andersson, her producer and her band isolated themselves at Studio Nord Bremen, a historic recording studio in northern Germany. In this period, five songs developed that are now featured on the artists Debut EP Paper Boat. Liv Andersson’s sound is a mixture of Folk, Jazz, and Trip Hop, inspired by artists such as Laura Marling, Fiona Apple, and Portishead. Her Folk Noir is fleshed out by her full and warm voice that spans fragility and expression.
