Lee Mathis & the Brutally Handsome are an outlaw/traditional/swing country band unlike any band you’ve ever seen before. The live show is a very high energy upbeat show with a lot of the country songs just not heard anymore mainstream. With country music stations transitioning to more pop country and red dirt country, this band forges ahead playing the outlaw country of the 1970’s, 1980’s, and 1990’s, while playing a lot of original music from their two albums, “The Hard Stuff” released in 2017, as well as “Vices” released in 2019! In 2024, the band released three new songs…“Pieces of Me”, “Who Knew”, and “Leavin’ Me’s Leavin’ Me Lonely”, and “Drinkin’ Again” as well as “All I Need Is You” was released in 2025.
In 2018, Lee walked home with Song of the Year from the ETX Music Awards with “Something About the Rain”. In 2019, the band won Country Band of the Year, while Lee took home Male Vocalist of the Year & Songwriter of the Year.
