Jayi’s music journey began as a dancer from the age of seven, but was paused after a health scare during her high school dance career. She began producing music shortly after, in 2017. In 2021, she was selected from an online audition to become a trainee at a Los Angeles-based entertainment company, where she learned from professionals in the Korean music industry and helped produce the sound and vision of a pop girl group. After leaving the company, she has since produced songs for independent pop artists in the San Francisco Bay Area, including herself.
As a singer, rapper, dancer, and self-produced artist, Jayi is a well-rounded pop performer who strives to bring the P-Pop (Pinoy Pop) sound to the States. Her bilingual lyrics express her experiences as a queer, asexual Filipina-American about love, expectations, and the cultural divide. Recently, she gained over 2,000 streams on her surprise drop, “Sea.” She is currently preparing her debut EP.
