With roots deep in the Swedish underground scene since the early ’90s, the members of Eyes of the Oak have gathered a broad arsenal of musical lore. Formed on a summer night in 2022—fueled by a few quality brews—the band quickly found themselves writing new material, and the spark of inspiration has burned fiercely ever since.
Their sound is a molten brew of Doom, Stoner, Psych, Prog, and Drone, with a strong backbone of classic Heavy Metal. Drawing on a past in bands like black metal act Noctes, punk outfit Svarta Spyor, power metal warriors Wyvern, and the progressive collective Obskyr, the group brings decades of sonic diversity into one heavy, heady cauldron.
The debut full-length The Stone Vortex was recorded live in Studio Underjord, engineered and mixed by genre mainstay Joona Hassinen. It captures the raw, electric energy of four musicians locking in and letting loose—loud, imperfect, and deeply human.
Since then, the band has followed up with a second full-length album, Neolithic Flint Dagger, and the conceptual EP Curse of the Mummy—further expanding their myth-laden, riff-heavy universe.
Eyes of the Oak have brought their immersive live ritual to stages across Sweden and Norway, including a packed show in Oslo in January 2025, sharing stages with both local and international underground legends. With more to come, the oak grows ever darker.
