Artist: Chris Lippincott

Who: Chris Lippincott

Ambient

Composer and producer Chris Lippincott’s poignant melodies narrate stories of ascent, hope, and the human struggle amidst an evocative sonic landscape. His compositions invite the audience on an immersive, genre-blurring journey of emotion by uniting synthetic textures, organic instrumentation, and the human voice.

Originally from Tupelo, Mississippi, Chris has established himself as a prolific artist with an impressive catalog of work. Over the past four years, he has self-released four solo albums alongside three collaborative projects with distinguished musicians: concert violinist Alicia Enstrom and saxophonist David Williford. His anticipated full-length album, Angel in a Jetstream, will be released in 2026, featuring a contemplative combination of piano, strings, and vocals that reflects on the transformation of suffering into grace within the human spirit.

Initially establishing himself in Nashville’s music scene as a pedal steel player, Chris progressively became captivated by the broader possibilities of strings, piano, and electronic instruments, ultimately finding his calling in composition. As a multi-instrumentalist, he has performed and recorded with artists including Maggie Rogers, Ruston Kelly, Ivan Theva, Lee Ann Womack, Peter Bradley Adams, John Mailander, and more.

Chris earned his undergraduate degree from Loyola University in New Orleans before pursuing a Master’s in Recording Technology from Middle Tennessee State University. The culturally rich and eccentric climate of New Orleans provided an expansive palette for the artist to draw from, influencing his approach to music-making. This foundation has shaped his philosophy of creating music that transcends genre boundaries, focusing instead on the vibe and emotional resonance that each piece evokes.
