Bouvier Normal is a magnet attracting two opposite poles. On one end of the spectrum, Indy Bouvier’s soft vocal harmonies float, synchronized to the enchanting melodies played on acoustic guitar. Meanwhile, Mike Normal’s creeping distortion and unapologetic blasting drums drill through your ears. Their exploration of new sonic territories combines perfectly to the lyrics. They reference codependency, loneliness, depression and social anxiety. One might believe that Bouvier Normal are pessimists. Quite the contrary, writing about difficult emotions is a freeing way to let off steam.
