Bigfoot Sighting are a Geelong-based five-piece consisting of vocalist Joel Fletcher, bassist Max Humphrey, drummer Felix Walsh and guitarists Zach Parker and Alfie Mason.
After months of writing, rewriting, and refining, the band had found their own cogent sonic identity. Obsessed with the likes of Pinegrove, Title Fight, Mom Jeans and other members of the emo revival, along with the songwriting of Adrianne Lenker and Morrisey, the band developed a new songwriting ethos: If it can be played alone in the dark on an acoustic guitar, it can be played by a five piece band with cranked amps and stacked pedalboards.
Playing small gigs in garages and living rooms, Bigfoot Sighting has been quickly garnering a dedicated cult following. Cheers fill the room as the first notes of instantly iconic ‘Bagpipes and Wintercoats’ ring out, the lyrics of ’Manic and Avoidant’ are sung out like a rite, long before the song is set to release.
