Pianist Ben van Daal was born in Roermond, The Netherlands in 1991. He studied classical piano at Imola Piano Academy in Eindhoven and later at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg. Through the years he has worked with many artists, choirs and all kinds of ensembles, making him an experienced accompanist in a broad range of musical styles: from classical music and music theatre to jazz and pop. Next to this, he accompanies ballet classes for ArtEZ. In his performances the element of improvisation is always present, both in his interpretations of existing music and in playing entirely new improvisations, making each event a unique experience.
Besides being a pianist, Ben van Daal also composes and regularly performs his own music. His output consists of larger works, including a set of 24 Preludes for piano solo, as well as smaller works for various instruments, including song cycle “Immortellen” and a sonata for flute and piano. His musical language of these works is reminiscent of the romantic style period. In July 2024 he released his first album with his 24 Preludes Opus 1.
