Who: Barak Mori
Contemporary Jazz
Barak Mori is a Tel Aviv–born, New York–based jazz bassist, composer, and educator. Active since the early 1990s, he has been a trusted collaborator for leading voices such as Avishai Cohen, Anat Cohen, Eli Degibri, Maya Dunietz, Madeleine Peyroux, Peter Cincotti and many others. Known for his warm, singing tone and deep sense of time, he moves easily between modern jazz, straight-ahead swing and more exploratory music. Alongside his sideman work, he leads his own projects and teaches the next generation of players.
