Who: able machines

Pop

Los Angeles electro-pop duo able machines burst onto the music scene in 2019 with their first single “Secrets and Lies”, setting the blueprint of their unique sound — coupling (often) dark lyrical imagery with concise pop hooks and melodies over electronic soundscapes. 2021 saw the release of their dynamic debut album “Pathological”, further cementing the foundation for their sonic style.

able machines started when singer/songwriter/actress Tay Côlieé connected with like-minded songwriter/producer Linus Dotson after both floating in the same musical circles, producing and writing for other pop artists. They instantly clicked and started recording songs and directing their own music videos. “I think for both of us, writing this album was a cathartic purging of emotions,” explains Tay. “Each song is a little glimpse into the inner workings of our brains and how we navigate the tangled dynamics of angsty love.” The majority of “Pathological” was mixed by Seth Earnest (Tessa Violet) and mastered by Paul Logus (Notorious B.I.G.). The duo also released “Pathological (Stripped)” – acoustic reinterpretations of the main songs from “Pathological” and have started work on their second full-length album, due out later in 2023.
