Who: Project Blue Beam
Indie
At age 7, Nick Silooy was captivated by music when he saw his dad play guitar at a birthday. After that fleeting encounter, he never saw his dad play again, but the experience left a lasting spark.
He began drumming at 11, picked up the guitar at 17, and ventured into music production at 21. Originally from Beverwijk, he later moved to the music capital of the Netherlands, The Hague. Nick shared the stage with his brother and two friends in the band Casual Tease.
He then became the drummer for 6uhr and later formed his own band, N.y.X, with friends in The Hague. They competed in the “Grote Prijs van de Bollenstreek” before Nick embarked on his solo project, Project Blue Beam.
Now, 36 years later, Nick is ready to share his music with the world. Inspired by bands like Foo Fighters, Incubus, Hoobastank, and Maroon 5, he blends subtle melodies with strong melodic lines, balancing humour, warmth, and depth. His music brings listeners together, encouraging dialogue, reflection, and peace. Guided by his fascination with esoteric knowledge and a desire to connect people, it leaves a lasting impression long after the final note.
