The talented ensemble BEATRIZ breathes Cuba in every note. And Cuba is also the birthplace of pianist and bandleader Laura Argudin, who named the group after her mother. Based in Rotterdam, the international BEATRIZ is renowned for its immersive and energetic performances that conjure the vibrant atmosphere of a night in Havana. Laura Argudin’s talent comes as no surprise: her father is the celebrated Latin-jazz pianist Rodolfo Argudin ‘Peruchín’, and she is the great-granddaughter of the legendary pianist Peruchín. BEATRIZ’s repertoire ranges from traditional son montuno and chachacha to spicy Cuban Latin jazz. In 2024, the group released their debut EP, Momentos, a collection of danceable, rhythmically charged tracks bursting with energy. BEATRIZ collaborated with international artists such as Philip Lassiter (known from Prince), Jay Kalo and, of course, Laura’s father, Rodolfo Argudin. Swinging, summer vibes and utterly dynamic: that is BEATRIZ.
