Het verhaal van Marathon begint zich als een jongensboek te ontvouwen. Van Noorderslag naar Best Kept Secret via een uitgebreide underground keldertour door Nederland; het bleek slechts een voorbode voor het definitieve doorbraakjaar van de Amsterdamse postpunkformatie. Dit voorjaar zijn er namelijk uitverkochte headlineshows in Amsterdam en Rotterdam die horen bij de release van het debuutalbum ‘Fading Image’. Daarnaast brengt het jonge vijftal hun explosieve livereputatie over de landsgrenzen naar Duitsland, België en Frankrijk en staat aan het einde van de zomer Lowlands op de kalender. Bij deze wordt daar een eindejaarsshow in de Grote Zaal van Paradiso aan toegevoegd. Dan kun je best zeggen dat er nu al een strik om 2025 kan.

Their music captures the anxieties of the 21st century, with relentless drumming by Lennart, gritty vocals by Kay, and commanding six-string basslines by Nina. Expanded live by keys and guitars by additional musicians Sofie and Victor, their sound evolves into a “wall of sound” that balances darkness with the promise of new beginnings.
