Het Engels-Zwitserse darkwaveduo Lebanon Hanover (Larissa Iceglass en William Maybelline) maakt melancholieke gothicrock en post-punk alsof de jaren tachtig nooit voorbij zijn gegaan. De twee hebben inmiddels vijf albums op hun naam staan, waarvan Asylum Lullabies (2025) de nieuwste is. Met invloeden als Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus en The Cure klinkt hun muziek kil, minimalistisch en somber, maar dat is in het universum van Lebanon Hanover juist een aanbeveling. Of zoals ze zelf zeggen: een ijskoud antwoord op de vervreemde wereld, afkomstig van twee warm kloppende harten!
