Experience Izran, an age-old Moroccan tradition from the Rif, where stories are passed down through song and poetry. Together with the troubadours of Imetlaa, Lina Charif brings an ode to Mimount ’N Serwan, a revered and reviled icon of the Rifian folk song from the 1970s. Word artist Nicole Kaandorp introduces the Izran with funny stories, anecdotes, poetry, and explanations about the songs. After this ode, Milouda Al Hoceimia will take the stage. She is a prominent singer from the generation that came after Mimount ’N Serwan. The concert will conclude with a second performance by Lina Charif, who represents the young generation, performing contemporary Izran songs.
